Dental Implant Restoration

A dental implant is a modern way to replace a missing tooth or teeth that has a very high success rate. The “implant” is a titanium screw that is surgically placed in your jawbone. (Don’t worry, this is not usually that painful!) After the jaw heals for several months, an implant crown (replacement tooth) can be placed on top of it. The implant crown attaches to the implant with a special screw.

At our office we work with specialists when doing dental implants. The specialist, either an oral surgeon or periodontist, will place the implant at their office. After the appropriate amount of healing, we will place the tooth or teeth on top of the implant at our office. We use the best materials and dental laboratories available to ensure maximum longevity of implant crowns produced by our office. We typically use authentic Straumann or Zimmer implant system parts.

After an implant is completed, it is much like a natural tooth and you should be able to clean and floss between your teeth in that area like prior to losing the tooth.

If you would like to discuss dental implant tooth replacement possibilities at our office, give us a call! We can give you recommendations, pros and cons, depending on your specific situation.
